I don’t know who’s reading this or if anyone’s reading this or if this is effecting anyone at all, but here’s the thing. Short, sweet, and to the point: It never ends.
If tonight or today, or whatever time it is right now, you feel yourself saying, “It never ends,” lift your eyes up. Maybe you’re saying it never ends- your pain, your shame, your guilt, your screw ups, your unbelief, the way you hurt other people without trying, the way you keep stumbling in the same area over and over again, the stress you’re dealing with, the list of things you have to do, the lies you believe, the stupid things in life, the people who judge you, the people you judge, that craving that’s out of control, the thing you love even though it destroys you, the thing that torments you that you’ve learned to cling to as an identity other than Jesus, your loneliness, your fear, your lust, your dreams that never seem to come true, your mundane life that you don’t understand, your discontentedness, the disapproval from those around you, the lack of feeling, the sin, the need for something more than this.
Lies. These things do end, eventually. If not in this life, then in the life to come which is promised to followers of Jesus. Endure the race, trying your best and giving God the rest, because one day it will end. Keep your eyes on Him, because when these struggles end, there will still be something that remains.
“Three things will last forever–faith, hope, and love–and the greatest of these is love.” -1 Corinthians 13:12
The struggle ends. The race will be won. Can you believe it’s possible to even have joy while you’re running the race? It does end. But Jesus’ love for you- it never ends. And it satisfies every need you could possibly have. All those things you feel like will never end can be overwhelmed by God’s love, in His timing.
